The Fab Mods, bien connus de la scène parisienne depuis quelques années, sortent chez Closer Records leur 2ème album : « The Girl Next Door », rodés par une longue série de concerts dont les désormais cultes « Nuits Closer ». Ils ont partagé la scène avec de nombreuses pointures comme The Members ou La Souris Déglinguée. Les 4 Fab Mods proposent un mélange de pop énergique à la Undertones (ils reprennent Teenage Kicks sur scène) ou Barracudas, sur fond assumé de Mod Revival et de British Punk. Forts de cette intensité brute et compacte, ils dégagent une énergie tout droit sortie de la scène anglaise de la fin des années 70… Pour le plus grand plaisir de vos oreilles, goutez donc cette décharge binaire et communicative ! Les Fab Mods ne plaisantent pas.

The Fab Mods, famous on the Parisian scene for quite a long time, will soon issue on Closer Records their 2nd album « The Girl Next Door », which they had the opportunity to streamline along a batch of gigs, including the now famous cult « Closer Nights ». They have shared the stage with well-known bands such as The Members or La Souris Déglinguées.The 4 Fab Mods offer a mixture of nervous and energic pop à-la-Undertones (they usually cover « Teenage Kicks » on stage) or Barracudas, on a mod revival and British punk base. Thanks to this raw and compact intensity, they develop an energy coming straight out of the late 70’s British scene. A la suite de deux albums de haute facture sortis sur SOAF Records, les Romanée Counteez signent chez Closer Records pour 4 Ep et un album ! Après des débuts tonitruants teintés de garage, de rythm’n’ blues voire de classic Rock’n’ roll le gang dijonnais lorgne toujours plus loin vers la soul… Ce virage maîtrisé s’effectue sous les meilleurs auspices : une flamme de soul toujours plus dense illumine le ciel de nos dijonnais mais les fondamentaux rock’n’roll sont de plus en plus posés, matures et efficaces, comme si un Wilson Picket sous amphétamines prenait un malin plaisir à se faire péter les tympans avec l’intégrale des Saints, Barracudas et autres Dogs.

Le retour du sorcier de l’Okefenokee sur Closer Records !
Ce brillant dernier opus, bien plus qu’une renaissance, symbolise en fait l’album de la maturité, tant Bruce, aidé notamment en sa tâche par son vieil acolyte Tom Byars, est parvenu à dompter les émotions qui l’animent, les démons qui le hantent pour les matérialiser en chansons et graver sur la bande les méandres de son âme. Tout au long de « The Devil is beating his wife » se révèle au grand jour, la sensibilité à la fois juvénile, empreinte de nostalgie, tourmentée mais toujours sincère et à fleur de peau de cet incroyable artiste.
